The Polish Institute of International Affairs has announced the start of
recruitment for two-month Student Internships for students in field of
European Union integration. The internships will be held in January and
February 2013. Application forms must be submitted by 9 December 2012.
General Rules for the Internship
1.
The duration of a Student Internship is two months (January – February
2012). The expected workload is 20 hours (approx. 4h per day), although
the working hours are flexible. It can be prolongued up to three months.
2.
The internship includes supporting the ongoing work of the “European
Union” Programme at PISM Research Office, including both organisational
and research tasks
3. The internship is unpaid. The Polish
Institute of International Affairs will not cover costs for travel,
insurance or accommodation.
4. On the successful completion of
the Student Internship, the student will receive a certificate of
completion for their practice work. The basis for its issuance is the
active participation in the Student Internship and the fulfilment of the
prescribed tasks.
Recruitment Policy
Those eligible for
admission to the Student Internship are students of a fourth- or
fifth-year Master’s Degree, second-degree Master’s Degree and
post-graduate candidates in field of European Integration (e.g. EU
studies, international relations, political sciences). The program is
open to both Polish and international students. The knowledge of Polish
is not required (PISM EU Programme consists of non nationals).
Candidates
are asked to fill out and send the attached application form as well as
to send a writing sample in English of not more than 800 words (in
preferable research area related to EU issues), or a research proposal
of the same length. Please send the applications to kaca@pism.pl by 9 December 2012.
Those
chosen to pursue the internship will be selected on the basis of their
aplications and text sent, i.e. academic achievements, average grade
from the most recent year of study and other academic and social
activities and publications.
The chosen applicants will be
contacted in order to hold an interview (face-to-face or by phone). The
internship will start on 2 January 2013.
