This is the motto of the Student-Conference. The Students Conference
kicks off a series of activities and events ( „university weeks“)
providing interested students with access to a career in the field of
microsystems technology in the top-level cluster “MicroTEC Südwest”
(Southwest) in Germany.
It is the intention to present the cluster region with its competences,
business companies, educational and scientific institutions as an ideal
location for scientific and industrial careers.
Who should attend?
The Students Conference focuses on microsystem technology and is aimed
at students of engineering or natural sciences in their final academic
year.
About the conference
Top class speakers from industry and science offer you an insight into
current topics in the world of microsystems technology, such as
Mobility, Health Care, Smart Systems Integration and Energy Harvesting
In addition current R&D results and applications of microtechnology
from the MicroTEC cluster region will be presented. A job fair with
leading companies in the area of microsystem technology from the cluster
region provides opportunities to make direct contacts and to build
network for your professional career.
A highlight of the conference is a presentation given by a Nobel Prize
Winner. Also make sure to join our ideas competition and a creativity
team contest during the conference both featured with exciting and
interesting awards (for more information see the application form). You
will find a detailed conference program as of April on our website

Participants can get an impression of the scenery of the cluster
region, its residents, its culture and its traditions by a
two-and-a-half-day supporting program with excursions (12. – 14.10.
2012), which takes place directly after the scientific part of the
conference.

Microsystems Technology and the cluster region
The cluster region is one of the most important centres for the German
microsystems engineering industry. The South-west of Germany is home of
the Leading-Edge Cluster MicroTEC Südwest ( http://microtec-suedwest.de
). With the four regions Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Villingen-Schwenningen
and Freiburg the cluster is located in one of the European
high-performance areas of science and industry. The common and
connective elements are the scientific institutions, production and
service companies as well as external suppliers working in the
microtechnology sector.
Participation fee (€ 90,00)
The conference will be with costs. The participation fee can be refunded
for those students actively taking part in the creativity team contest
and the ideas competition.The participation fee at the Students
Conference includes lunch and beverage in the coffee breaks and a
participation in a cultural supporting program with excursions (12. –
14.10. 2012, including 2 guest-nights)
Registration
A registration and application to the Students Conference is necessary.
To register please visit the website www.microtec-career.com. Beginning
in March you will find there an application form with an invoice. We
would be pleased if you could transfer the participation fee of €90 in
the course of 2 weeks. After receipt of your payment your registration
is binding and you will get an affirmative answer. Registration closes
on 3. September 2012.
